Glenn Jarvis, Esq., has almost 50 years of experience in the field of water law. He is a recognized authority in the law of the Rio Grande, surface water law in general, and special issues of western water law.
Mr. Jarvis began practicing water law in 1963, participating in the now legendary Valley Water Suit that adjudicated all water rights to the Lower Rio Grande. He then helped argue Texas' first-ever adjudication of water rights by the Texas Water Rights Commission, encompassing all water rights in the middle and upper Rio Grande, an area that stretches from above Falcon Dam to near El Paso. His substantial career has encompassed numerous adjudication cases elsewhere in Texas as well as far-ranging water rights cases before the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and its predecessors.
This site shares Mr. Jarvis' substantial first-hand knowledge of and experience in helping shape the principles and policies that underlie modern water law and their implementation in Texas and other western states.
